Senegal practical ?
The Senegal
Senegal covers an area of 196,712 km2 and is located in West Africa. It borders several countries: Mauritania, Mali, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry and Gambia which constitutes an enclave of more than 11 300 km2 penetrating inside the country. The country has more than 700 km of coastline on the Atlantic Ocean.
Seasons
There are mainly two major seasons: The dry season: period from November to July. Temperatures vary between 22 and 40° C depending on the region. From December to March the temperatures can be low. The rainy season or wintering: with rains that have become rare in recent years in the north and in the interior of the country. Casamance, Delta Saloum and Eastern Senegal record the best rainfall. The weather is a little humid but is the best time to observe the green landscapes and small lakes. It should also be noted that Senegal is one of the sunniest countries in the world with an average of 330 days of sunshine, i.e. approximately more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year.
Economy
Senegal’s economy is driven by mining, construction, tourism, fishing and agriculture, which are the main sources of employment. However, the informal sector employs more than 80% of the active population.
